• The BOSDIC Review

The Review is BOSDIC’s academic journal, founded in 2025. It is released on a bi-annual basis via contributions of members of BOSDIC’s research departments: Diplomacy, International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid, and Defense and Conflict. In an age where news is conveyed mainly through headlines or catchfrases, the Review seeks to research geopolitical stories in depth, using a multi-faceted approach to better understand the world around us.

  • Common themes explored include how diplomacy is a strategic tool for State and non-state actors, ranging from how diplomacy can lead to non-conflict resolution to mediating tensions in heated situations

  • At a time when this theme seems to be at a crossroads, members explore the ways in which international cooperation such as treaties or world orders are being attacked by some, while also paying close attention to those which choose to foster such relationships.

  • Up until the early 2010’s a positive trend was in place: world GDP per capita was increasing, absolute poverty was decreasing, and democracy was on the rise. The slowdown, or sometimes even the rollback, of some of these trends led to an unprecedented rise of disaster, crises and tumult throughout the world. It is important, through humanitarian aid, to explore this through an analytic lens, to understand how to better preserve and help the world around us.

  • The world of security and defense has taken a new pivot after Russia began its war of aggression against Ukraine in 2022. With this new pivot come unprecedented changes, extending to the new industrial-military complex in formation to general global rearmament. Exploring it in depth is key to grasping the future which lies ahead.
